Summary:
The Parks and Community Specialist I is to assist with all services and activities of Parks and Community Facilities including recreation and senior centers activities, adult and youth programs including to ensure sport facilities are appropriate.
Minimum Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED A valid driver's license.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide exceptional customer service and perform clerical duties such as serving as a receptionist.
Assist citizens with activities at assigned City facilities, parks and community centers to include preparing facilities and providing additional information on reservations of parks and city facilities as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Employees hired as seasonal are Parks and Community Specialist I.
Employees hired as part-time are Parks and Community Specialist II and may perform the additional duties of:
Assist with all parks, community centers and city recreational and sports facilities services and activities including reservations, customer services, coordinating activities, preparation and closing of facilities, etc.
May serve as a liaison with other City departments, divisions, and outside agencies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of :
Customer Service principles and practices.
City general policies and procedures.
Skills in:
Exceptional external and internal customer service.
Excellent verbal and written communication to engage with all stakeholders.
Planning work, time, and resources.
Mulit-tasking in an environment with multiple interruptions.
Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Work is performed in a standard office environment with low to moderate noise level.
May work in outside settings.
Subject to sitting for an extended period of time, standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting and putting away such items as records and office supplies of moderate weight of up to 75 pounds.
Working with a wide variety of people, experiencing different levels of emotions E.
